Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 8, 2026

Your travel memories belong to you. This policy explains how Visit Beautiful USA at visitbeautifulusa.com handles information when you create and download a map.

At a glance

Information saved on your device

We use browser local storage to remember your selected states and territories, the title you enter, your optional photo, map colors and label settings. These details remain in the browser you use. Anyone with access to that browser may be able to access them.

Your photo is processed locally. We do not send it, your map title or your selected places to Firebase. Fonts and map geography are served with the website.

The download counter

When you press PNG, JPEG or PDF, the website sends the requested format to our server. The server increments an aggregate count stored in Google Firebase Cloud Firestore. The count represents button clicks, not unique people or guaranteed successful downloads.

Our current counter does not store new individual download events, selected places, map titles, photos or a user identifier. The download format is used to validate the request and is not saved in the aggregate counter. Earlier development and testing may have left historical test event records; the current feature does not add to them.

The website also requests the total periodically to display it. The aggregate total may be kept indefinitely because it is not linked to a particular visitor.

Downloads and sharing

Your map image or PDF is generated in your browser and saved to your device. It may include the title, photo and selected places you choose to include. If you share that file, its recipients can see those details. Visit Beautiful USA does not create a publicly hosted copy of your personal map.

Cookies, analytics and advertisements

The current website does not include advertising-network scripts, behavioral analytics or tracking cookies. Local storage is used to save your map, rather than to track you across websites.

The advertisement area is currently a placeholder. Any future advertising or analytics service that changes how information is handled will be reflected in an updated policy.

Infrastructure and external services

Google Firebase provides the database for the aggregate counter. Our hosting and infrastructure providers may process technical information such as IP addresses, request details and browser information to deliver the website, maintain security and diagnose errors. We do not use those details to create a travel profile. Provider log retention is governed by their services and policies.

You can read Google’s Privacy Policy. Links to external websites, including Markshapers, are subject to those websites’ own policies.

Removing your saved information

Clear the site data for visitbeautifulusa.com in your browser settings to remove saved selections, titles, photos and settings. Clearing selected states in the map only clears that selection; it does not remove all browser storage. Downloaded files must be deleted separately from your device.

The aggregate download total cannot be tied to your individual activity by our counter, so a particular visitor’s contribution cannot be isolated from it.

Children’s privacy

Visit Beautiful USA is a general-audience map tool. We do not ask for an account, date of birth or personal contact details, and we do not knowingly collect children’s personal information through the map creator.

Updates and questions

We will update this page and its date when our data practices change. For privacy questions, use the contact options available at Markshapers.com.
